Do you wish you could help more people as a mental health professional?

Then stick around, because in this episode of the mental health toolbox, we are talking with psychologist Dr. Monica Blied, who shares with us her journey of learning how to help more people with digital mental health products. She has created her own mental health app, called Faces Of Health, as well as online courses and a YouTube Channel.

According to the Trilliant Health Report: Behavioral Health Providers (BHPs) are spread thinner, with a nationwide average of only 61 providers to 100,000 people. As of June-2022, 32.8% of adults were reporting symptoms of anxiety or depression. While the covid-19 pandemic has forged a path to greater access to care via telehealth, access overall remains a challenge.

00:00:00 Patrick Martin LCSW

Do you wish you could help more people as a mental health professional than stick around?

00:00:04 Patrick Martin LCSW

Because in this episode of the mental Health Toolbox, we’re talking with clinical psychologist Dr Monica Blide, who shares her journey of learning how to help more people with digital mental health products.

00:00:17 Patrick Martin LCSW

She has created her own mental health app called.

00:00:20 Patrick Martin LCSW

Basis of help.

00:00:21 Patrick Martin LCSW

As well as online courses and a YouTube channel.

00:00:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

While we’re training to be therapists, we don’t get training in like business.

00:00:30 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You kind of just gotta figure it out on your own right.

00:00:30 Patrick Martin LCSW

Not the truth.

00:00:33 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And so I have this beautiful opportunity to learn about the business side of private practice.

00:00:38 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Like what?

00:00:39 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Does it mean?

00:00:40 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

To be an entrepreneur and be able to manage and juggle all the things that come along with that.

00:00:46 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And and so as I was part of that program, I started to think more and more about how can I widen and increase my impact.

00:00:56 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Act up without, uhm, spreading myself too thin.

00:01:03 Patrick Martin LCSW

As a mental health professional, one of my biggest frustrations is not being able to help as many people as I would like and I’m sure you feel the same.

00:01:11 Patrick Martin LCSW

There is a major supply and demand issue in the mental health space at the moment someone seeks treatment, it could be up to three months before they’re seen for either therapy or medication support services.

00:01:22 Patrick Martin LCSW

According to the trillion health report, behavioral health providers are spread thinner with the nationwide average of only 61 providers per 100,000.

00:01:32 Patrick Martin LCSW

And people. And as of June 20, 2232 point, 8% of adults were reporting symptoms of anxiety or depression, while the pandemic has forged greater access to care through telehealth access, to care still remains a major challenge. In light of this challenge, we are starting to see.

00:01:52 Patrick Martin LCSW

Mental health apps on the rise and effort to educate and support consumers to augment therapy.

00:01:58 Patrick Martin LCSW

Doctor Blide shares with us how she was able to get into the app development space as a therapist without any technical or coding knowledge and how you can too.

00:02:08 Patrick Martin LCSW

So let’s go.

00:02:16 Patrick Martin LCSW

Good morning doctor Blide.

00:02:17 Patrick Martin LCSW

Thank you so much for being on the mental health toolbox today and dedicating your time to share with us your expertise around mental health.

00:02:27 Patrick Martin LCSW

Being a clinical psychologist and specializing in.

00:02:30 Patrick Martin LCSW

ADHD and chronic illness.

00:02:32 Patrick Martin LCSW

And so I’m just very excited to dive in.

00:02:34 Patrick Martin LCSW

And share with the audience your expertise and golden Nuggets of wisdom here.

00:02:39 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And I’m so grateful that.

00:02:41 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You have me on today.

00:02:42 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Thank you.

00:02:43

It’s been a long.

00:02:43 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Time coming for the audience who are listening.

00:02:46 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I actually reached out to Patrick several months ago and you know, we had something scheduled and then I was ill and he was super flexible with me.

00:02:57 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

But we are here today.

00:02:58 Patrick Martin LCSW

Yes yes, despite technical difficulties, right?

00:03:03 Patrick Martin LCSW

Got it squared away.

00:03:05 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah, technical difficulties are the spice of life.

00:03:07 Patrick Martin LCSW

Yes, exactly right keeps us.

00:03:09

Steep societies, yes.

00:03:11 Patrick Martin LCSW

Absolutely well, I I know.

00:03:14 Patrick Martin LCSW

I know somewhat of your background, but.

00:03:16 Patrick Martin LCSW

Why don’t you?

00:03:17 Patrick Martin LCSW

Go ahead and introduce yourself and share with us what you’re about, where you come from.

00:03:21 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah, so I am a.

00:03:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Clinical health psychologist located in California, Southern California specifically.

00:03:29 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And the owner.

00:03:30 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Of faces of health so feeds of health is a private practice in Southern California but also in enterprise. At Mary’s mental health.

00:03:40 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Both with the tech industry, so I have digital tools that I’ve created to help spread access to mental health skills and tools to the larger public.

00:03:50 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So an online course and an app.

00:03:53 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’m also a.

00:03:54 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Wife, a mother of three.

00:03:57 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I have both toddlers and teenagers and.

00:04:00 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uhm, what else?

00:04:03 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I think that’s enough for now.

00:04:04 Patrick Martin LCSW

As a professor.

00:04:05 Patrick Martin LCSW

How are you just starting?

00:04:06 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Professor, yeah Pepperdine yeah so I with the Pepperdine for undergrad and for my masters program, then jumped over to fellow theological seminary for my PhD where I learned about the integration of faith and psychology that was really important for me coming up.

00:04:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

The reason why I went into psychology as a career field was because I saw the great.

00:04:30 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Like stigma against mental health care.

00:04:34 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Specifically in my family, but also in the larger black community.

00:04:37 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And I wanted to be able to make a difference.

00:04:39 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

To be this, you know.

00:04:41 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Beautiful brown face.

00:04:43 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Again, you know still also help people with mental health and and kind of combat.

00:04:49 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

That stigma of like.

00:04:50 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know, just keep it in the family.

00:04:52 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Or what happens?

00:04:53 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

In this House stays in this House so that people can be able to.

00:04:56 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Get the support and the tools that they need to make it through stressful times.

00:05:01 Patrick Martin LCSW

Wow, thank you so much for the work you’re doing and you’re not busy at all, right?

00:05:11 Patrick Martin LCSW

Yeah, so fantastic.

00:05:13 Patrick Martin LCSW

So yeah, Fuller seminary.

00:05:15 Patrick Martin LCSW

That’s a.

00:05:15 Patrick Martin LCSW

It’s a great school.

00:05:16 Patrick Martin LCSW

I’ve referred a lot of clients there for her care and so you have a background in both the spiritual you know how to implement the spiritual into the.

00:05:18

Thank you.

00:05:27 Patrick Martin LCSW

Clinical practice, right?

00:05:28 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah, yeah, and so that people find like wherever they find meaning or wherever they find hope.

00:05:36 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uhm, that can really be.

00:05:39 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Enhanced ah, I’m going to say capitalized upon because that’s kind of a weird way to say.

00:05:45 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It but you.

00:05:46 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Know just making sure that we don’t forget any parts of diversity because a person, faith system, whether that be an institutionalized religion or you know a different spiritual practice.

00:06:00 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Or you know, Eastern belief systems or whatever the.

00:06:05 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Case might be.

00:06:06 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

The, UM, these are all up makeup of their diversity, no difference and raised.

00:06:14 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And ethnicity and, uhm, you know languages.

00:06:19 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And you know. And so.

00:06:20 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Many other things that we need to.

00:06:22 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Attend to as mental health.

00:06:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

A therapist.

00:06:26 Patrick Martin LCSW

Yes, absolutely and so.

00:06:30 Patrick Martin LCSW

Given that you have so many different areas of expertise when it comes to chronic illness to ADHD, autism spectrum special needs, how did you?

00:06:45 Patrick Martin LCSW

Get into the digital space, right?

00:06:47 Patrick Martin LCSW

Because I know that’s really popular these days, but it’s also very, I think, a lot more difficult than I think people realize.

00:06:57 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It is, it is so.

00:06:58 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I attended a business accelerator program. I wanted grants through LA County and the specific grant program was through something called list LA which is.

00:07:12 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Is a.

00:07:14 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

A metal corporation, but a organization that helps to empower communities, especially communities of color.

00:07:25 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Through like you know.

00:07:27 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Tackling the unhoused issue in LA County or.

00:07:34 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Helping to you know.

00:07:36 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Empower business owners who would otherwise not have access to capital or access to different resources.

00:07:44 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And so I got this grant, and the grant was to be a part of this 12 week business accelerator program, and it was basically like getting an MBA.

00:07:54 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Like a masters of Business Association in like 12 weeks and so you know the people who are listening.

00:08:01 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

If you’re not like in the mental health field.

00:08:03 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

If you didn’t study to be a therapist, one thing you may not know is while we’re training to be therapy.

00:08:08 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yes, we don’t get training in like business.

00:08:12 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You kinda just gotta figure it.

00:08:14 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Out on your own right?

00:08:15 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And so I have this beautiful opportunity to learn about the business side of private practice.

00:08:21 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Like what does it mean to be an entrepreneur and be able to manage and juggle all the things that come along with that and?

00:08:29 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And so, as I was part of that program, I started to think more and more about how can I widen and increase my impact without, uh?

00:08:44 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Spreading myself too thin because like you’ve noticed, Patrick, I do, you know, do a lot of things right now.

00:08:51 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

In addition to being a mom and you know, helping raise a household and also living with chronic illness myself, I’ve lived with lupus and fibromyalgia.

00:09:03 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Since 2012.

00:09:05 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

How can I uhm have the the greatest impact help the most people without always working?

00:09:14 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Because I need downtime, I need rest all humans.

00:09:18 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Do, but I feel like I especially.

00:09:20 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Do so that I can not burnout, and so that I can continue to.

00:09:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Do this work.

00:09:25 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And so I I had already started to think.

00:09:29 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

About like doing.

00:09:31 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Online courses where you know it’s like a self.

00:09:34 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Paced people can log on and just watch.

00:09:38 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And then I had the.

00:09:39 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Idea of like what about also putting it?

00:09:41 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Into an app I.

00:09:42 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Think the the organizer of the particular program was like yeah, have you thought about it happened?

00:09:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I was like.

00:09:48 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Wait, that’s like possible, that’s a thing.

00:09:52 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah, and so I I thought.

00:09:54 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

OK, you know I have these videos together for my online course.

00:09:58 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Why not make shorter videos?

00:10:01 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know like 1 to 3 minutes teaching people really important mental health tools and make it accessible in an app and so that was last like.

00:10:12 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

November, December that I was in that program in 2020.

00:10:16 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

One and by June 2022, that’s when I had my app published in the App stores and accessible for all, UM.

00:10:28 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So it kind of grew and developed out of that, this taking this, learning how to be an entrepreneur.

00:10:36 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

To how can I widen access to mental health skills and tools to now it’s on the market and.

00:10:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’ve partnered with other professionals, specifically black women professionals who can share their areas of expertise as well, and to make even more accessible different life skills for folks.

00:11:03 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So I have someone who’s talking about recovery.

00:11:08 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And so one of the videos she has is the neurobiology of trauma.

00:11:13 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

There’s the neurobiology of healing and then it’s God trauma.

00:11:18 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

What happens when you feel traumatized by people in the church or you know spiritual experiences?

00:11:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

There’s someone else who comes on and she talks about.

00:11:28 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Holistic substance abuse recovery and Holtby, and other techniques for managing cravings, and I have someone who’s going to come on and talk about.

00:11:39 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uhm, grounded mindfulness. I do a lot of that but like what does self-care and self love look like in the context of recovering from narcissistic abuse and relationships.

00:11:50 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So just those sorts of things.

00:11:52 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I am so thrilled and excited that it’s actually like available to the public now.

00:11:56 Patrick Martin LCSW

Wow, so it’s it’s not just like, uhm?

00:11:59 Patrick Martin LCSW

Like a meditation app, this is last.

00:12:01 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Right?

00:12:04 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Right, right?

00:12:04 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And that’s what I love about it because I I truly love what’s on the market now.

00:12:09 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So there is, you know, like common hackspace, but it’s really just like breathing exercises and meditation.

00:12:15 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

But what I notice for myself, trying.

00:12:18 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

To deal with stress.

00:12:19 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Us is that sometimes you’re just not in a.

00:12:22 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Position to even breathe.

00:12:23 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Like you’re so stressed out, you’re.

00:12:25 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So anxious or angry?

00:12:27 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Or whatever that if you do, try to breathe.

00:12:28 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You’re going to hyperventilate.

00:12:32

So what else?

00:12:33 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Is out there to help with your mental health.

00:12:35 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

What else is out there to help calm down your nervous system?

00:12:39 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And so I teach people about tapping skill.

00:12:43 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Emotional freedom technique type tapping and EMDR.

00:12:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Bilateral tapping I teach people about grounding skills.

00:12:51 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

If you do have a history of trauma, closing your eyes to try to do a meditation can be very triggering.

00:12:59 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Very activating grounding exercises or meditations that you do.

00:13:03 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

With your eyes wide open, it actually takes you from your inner world of chaos and negative experience to focus on purpose on the outside.

00:13:13 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

World so again calm down your nervous system and again as we’re going through each of these different trainings that I give and these short videos, I’m also teaching people the neuroscience behind.

00:13:25 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It So what is?

00:13:26 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Actually happening in your brain and biology as you’re doing it so you not just know how to do it, but.

00:13:32 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know why it works?

00:13:34 Patrick Martin LCSW

I love that because it’s not just do this this.

00:13:38 Patrick Martin LCSW

This is why you’re doing and I I really appreciate.

00:13:40 Patrick Martin LCSW

Get that right and I know and and the work I’ve done with clients.

00:13:43 Patrick Martin LCSW

I definitely try and explain the reasoning behind a lot of these skills and why why this is effective for some people, right?

00:13:50 Patrick Martin LCSW

’cause not everything is effective for everyone, but that’s one of the reasons I was looking through your app.

00:13:54 Patrick Martin LCSW

I was like wow this is great because it’s not just you know mood tracking, it’s not just.

00:14:01 Patrick Martin LCSW

Deep breathing it’s tapping it’s brain, spotting it’s even had a self brain spot right.

00:14:06 Patrick Martin LCSW

It’s the psychoeducation, it’s the.

00:14:10 Patrick Martin LCSW

The podcast features as well kind of thing.

00:14:13 Patrick Martin LCSW

You know it’s the lectures, right?

00:14:14 Patrick Martin LCSW

So it’s.

00:14:15 Patrick Martin LCSW

It’s very like I said, very robust because we understand that what works for you may not work for me per SE, right?

00:14:21 Patrick Martin LCSW

And that’s a big part of mental health, right?

00:14:23 Patrick Martin LCSW

As I’m trying to not treat everything like a boiler plate approach.

00:14:27 Patrick Martin LCSW

And understanding that every person is unique and even for the same, you know, even for the same person what works and one instance may not work anymore.

00:14:36 Patrick Martin LCSW

That’s what that’s usually what causes a crisis, right is because when somebody coping skills stop working, you know, or they don’t work like they used to when times get rough.

00:14:39

Right?

00:14:46 Patrick Martin LCSW

People kind of go into panic.

00:14:48 Patrick Martin LCSW

I know I do.

00:14:48 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Right, right?

00:14:48 Patrick Martin LCSW

Like wait, wait, it usually helps calm me down.

00:14:51 Patrick Martin LCSW

What’s going on?

00:14:51 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It’s not working now, yeah?

00:14:53 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And I think you intuitively understand that, and you created the mental health toolbox past because it’s not, uh, just just about having one or two skills or one or two tools.

00:15:08 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It’s about having a toolbox or.

00:15:11 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know if we want.

00:15:12 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

To be.

00:15:12 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Like gender stereotypic a makeup kit.

00:15:16 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

OK yeah, multiple different tools you know or or skills that are available to you that you can try in different circumstances where.

00:15:26 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

OK, I’m at.

00:15:27 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know a level 10 out of 10.

00:15:29 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’m going to do this.

00:15:31 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’m actually at a level 7 out of 10.

00:15:33 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’m going to do this today.

00:15:34 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’m at a level.

00:15:36 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

300 out of 10. I need to do this type of skill so you know being able to have knowledge of of what those different school.

00:15:48 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Excuse me, skills and tools are but then also have access to be able to practice them and be able to practice along with your therapist.

00:15:58 Patrick Martin LCSW

Absolutely yes.

00:16:00 Patrick Martin LCSW

I love it so.

00:16:03 Patrick Martin LCSW

This, uh?

00:16:05 Patrick Martin LCSW

Is your brainchild right?

00:16:09 Patrick Martin LCSW

And like you said, I would think that you know if somebody says, oh, just create an app.

00:16:13 Patrick Martin LCSW

It’s like as if it’s a simple thing.

00:16:18 Patrick Martin LCSW

I’m very curious.

00:16:18

Right?

00:16:20 Patrick Martin LCSW

You know what your process was, because again, looking into the app I can see how well organized it is, how many offerings it supports, and it’s this is like the first iteration, right?

00:16:30

Right?

00:16:30 Patrick Martin LCSW

So that’s impressive.

00:16:31

Right?

00:16:33

Yeah, thank you so.

00:16:34 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uhm, I had actually had a.

00:16:38 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I was sponsored to have a a tech company to create the.

00:16:41 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

App for me.

00:16:43 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And and after eight months of different iterations and things, just not working out and bugs and crashes and those sorts of things I just got really frustrated one evening and was just like.

00:17:00 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It can’t be this hard, so I googled how.

00:17:03 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

To create an app.

00:17:07 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And I was reading articles from different tech magazines about what are some of the best platforms online for creating your own app like no code, low code and different offerings.

00:17:20 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And I tried out three of them and one seemed most intuitive for me.

00:17:27 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And so I went with that, and within that same weekend I had created my app.

00:17:35 Patrick Martin LCSW

Taking matters into your own hands.

00:17:38 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah, so it was, you know it took.

00:17:41 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uh, you know three or four weeks to get everything finalized to be able.

00:17:45 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

To publish and.

00:17:45 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

The app stores after that.

00:17:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

But I was really proud of myself, for you know, just kind of figuring it out, but I think you know if there’s anything that’s.

00:17:55 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Impressive, or that I want to kind of brag about, is that I haven’t just left it with me, but I’ve so far also helped two other women.

00:18:06 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Then to create their own apps sharing with them the secret sauce.

00:18:11 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Of how we do it and.

00:18:11 Patrick Martin LCSW

I like that.

00:18:14 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah, yeah, that’s what’s most important for me.

00:18:17 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I feel like there’s you know enough.

00:18:20 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

For all of us to.

00:18:21 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Win, you know there’s enough for all of us.

00:18:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

To eat so you.

00:18:25 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Know why not share?

00:18:26 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

That that knowledge to empower others.

00:18:30 Patrick Martin LCSW

I think sometimes there’s this fear when you know.

00:18:33 Patrick Martin LCSW

For especially for business owners, that you know if you show people what’s under the hood, then somebody going to steal your stuff and run with it, and you’re going to lose your business.

00:18:40 Patrick Martin LCSW

But we know.

00:18:42 Patrick Martin LCSW

We signed, you know, from all the books I’ve read that’s not the case, right?

00:18:45 Patrick Martin LCSW

That when we share, we.

00:18:46 Patrick Martin LCSW

All win, right?

00:18:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yes, yeah it’s yeah and I think.

00:18:50 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

That’s you know part of the strength of.

00:18:51 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

My faith system too of like hey we can all up when like you said or you know it’s about giving you know more than just receiving that’s really important.

00:19:04 Patrick Martin LCSW

To me.

00:19:05 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And having that abundance mindset.

00:19:07 Patrick Martin LCSW

Yes, paint it forward.

00:19:10 Patrick Martin LCSW

That’s great, so obviously my wheels are turning and I want I want to ask you a million questions around app development, but I’m equally curious of course.

00:19:19 Patrick Martin LCSW

What your experience is in?

00:19:23 Patrick Martin LCSW

Starting your own business and mental health and what do you think would be most applicable to our audience and both for the clinicians and the consumers in terms of access to to health, and.

00:19:35 Patrick Martin LCSW

Maybe with chronic illness or even for for the therapists who are out there thinking about branching out on their own.

00:19:41 Patrick Martin LCSW

You have right ’cause I used to work with the VA, right?

00:19:44 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I did, I did yes so.

00:19:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uhm, I will share.

00:19:49 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Something that I learned as I was kind of doing my.

00:19:54 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Research for, UM, starting a private practice.

00:19:59 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

What I did was I I decided that I wasn’t going to continue working for the VA and I wanted to work.

00:20:05 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uhm for myself.

00:20:07 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uh, my initially thought I wanted to work for a group practice, but the opportunities that I have weren’t really fitting with my value system and so it was kind of like OK, I’m going.

00:20:18 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

To do this, you know.

00:20:19 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Solopreneur how am I?

00:20:21 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Going to do it so I interviewed if you.

00:20:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Will I I met with some?

00:20:27 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Private practice therapists in my area.

00:20:31 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I live in Clermont, live and work in Clermont and just said like what are.

00:20:35 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

What is some advice that you have for me?

00:20:37 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Like how did you do it anyway?

00:20:39 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It’s kind of.

00:20:40 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Acute, if someone were recording this because here I was with this four month old baby on my arm.

00:20:46 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I didn’t have childcare at that time, so I was like just he was just coming to.

00:20:49 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

These places with me, you know, and asking these other, you know, women entrepreneurs like.

00:20:56 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Just pour into me.

00:20:57 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

What advice do you have for me?

00:20:59 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And one who you know is now my friend, I’m Doctor Lucia Plunkett and and in Clairemont she’s been in a psychologist fear and private practice for 20 years, she said.

00:21:12 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Lead with your values.

00:21:14 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

She said if you value.

00:21:16 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Family time and not working on weekends or evenings then.

00:21:22 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

That’s how you need to set up your schedule in private.

00:21:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Practice if you value, you know, having breaks during the day, then don’t do back to that client and so going into.

00:21:36 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uh, my just owning my own business and the clients that I have are the income that I have so you know there there can be this.

00:21:45 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

This fear of well, if I tell people like no, actually I can’t meet you at 6:00 or 7:00 PM or no.

00:21:53 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I don’t have openings on Saturday.

00:21:54 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Does that mean I’m going?

00:21:55 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

To miss out on.

00:21:56 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Miss out on that relationship opportunity with that client and also that income opportunity.

00:22:02 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

But I just kept her voice in my head.

00:22:03 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

No lead with your values lead with.

00:22:05 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Your values and so as I was building at my caseload, I said no.

00:22:10 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’m going to work Wednesday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and within that time I’m going to.

00:22:16 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I have you.

00:22:17 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Know within that nine hour time frame I’m going to have five clients maximum.

00:22:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And so I did.

00:22:26 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And it was scary because I did have to turn some people away, but uhm, I went full time in March and I was full by June.

00:22:38 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And in full without.

00:22:39 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

The kind of resentment that can build.

00:22:43 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Up when you are working hours.

00:22:45 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

That you don’t want to.

00:22:46 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Work or the.

00:22:48 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know to say yes to one thing is to say no to something else, so to say yes to a weekend client is to say no to family time on weekends.

00:22:56 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Or you know, sacrificing in those ways?

00:22:59 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And so I felt very good about that.

00:23:02 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

That’s some advice that I would share to someone who’s thinking about building their private practice, like have an abundance mindset.

00:23:09 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Don’t have this.

00:23:09 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know, fear of missing out my inspire.

00:23:12 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Get up and lead with your values.

00:23:15 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

What is it that you value now?

00:23:17 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I have colleagues who you know are doing private practice part time and so they don’t mind working Saturdays or Sundays.

00:23:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Or, you know, 6:00 to 9:00 PM or whatever the case may be, that’s their value system.

00:23:29 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Mine was different, and so that would be kind of the main part.

00:23:33 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And then, even as I branched out into these digital products, it’s I value.

00:23:40 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’m not working so many hours.

00:23:45 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know, I value.

00:23:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uhm, both having a wider spread and reach of access to these tools that work and also not spreading and reaching myself, meaning not going over my own capacity.

00:24:04 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Spreading myself too thin so the way that I can do that.

00:24:07 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Is with these prerecorded videos prerecorded lessons?

00:24:11 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Where it’s just.

00:24:13 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I invest the time initially, but then after that it’s all passive income while helping so many more people than I can reach as an individual.

00:24:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So again, thinking outside of the box on how you can lead with your values.

00:24:32 Patrick Martin LCSW

Excellent yeah, I really love that leading with their values and I hear that you know when I when I listen to people like Joe Sanok and Allison Puryear and you know did one.

00:24:41 Patrick Martin LCSW

Podcast Now, if you’re familiar with her, uhm, but a lot of these other therapists in the digital space who talk about this.

00:24:50 Patrick Martin LCSW

Ideal of a passive income or working less hours and being more satisfied as a therapist because I do feel like there is this this dynamic where because there’s such a supply and demand issue.

00:25:01 Patrick Martin LCSW

You know it’s easy to, I think.

00:25:05 Patrick Martin LCSW

Overbook and distracted our quality of life around our work, right?

00:25:10 Patrick Martin LCSW

And you know, it can be very challenging.

00:25:12 Patrick Martin LCSW

Like you said, and I think a lot of that too is.

00:25:14 Patrick Martin LCSW

It’s a desire to serve, but it’s also sometimes fear based, right?

00:25:17

Right?

00:25:18 Patrick Martin LCSW

And it can become this competition.

00:25:20 Patrick Martin LCSW

I think in agency work you don’t really have a choice.

00:25:22 Patrick Martin LCSW

I mean you have to do everything you possibly can.

00:25:25 Patrick Martin LCSW

Well, maintaining self-care and respecting that your break time and that kind of thing. But I think in the private sector it’s a lot easier to just recreate.

00:25:35 Patrick Martin LCSW

The agency, yeah.

00:25:36

Right?

00:25:38 Patrick Martin LCSW

And I think we we.

00:25:40 Patrick Martin LCSW

Always want to like oh I can just take on a little more.

00:25:42 Patrick Martin LCSW

I can take a little.

00:25:42 Patrick Martin LCSW

More I can make.

00:25:43 Patrick Martin LCSW

It happen, I could make it fit.

00:25:44 Patrick Martin LCSW

At least that’s my propensity, you know, because.

00:25:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Right?

00:25:47 Patrick Martin LCSW

That that desire to help, right?

00:25:49 Patrick Martin LCSW

But then.

00:25:49

Right?

00:25:51 Patrick Martin LCSW

There’s the burnout.

00:25:52 Patrick Martin LCSW

And then there’s the quality of life and that light work life balance, you know.

00:25:57

Yeah, yes.

00:25:58 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And and it’s.

00:25:59 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

True that we.

00:26:00 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Can right you know anyone who’s doing agency life right now? They can see 32 clients a week.

00:26:08 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

38 clients a weekend we can in private practice as well. But just because we can doesn’t mean we should, you know, and we have to.

00:26:18 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know one thing that I think about is like.

00:26:22 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Every guest is a notice.

00:26:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Something else.

00:26:25 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So uh, yes, one other client is a no to that coffee break or the time to record a podcast you know, or you know meeting with a client?

00:26:36 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I mean, see meeting with a colleague for just networking or consultation.

00:26:42 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Or just having a breath?

00:26:45 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know that break UM or whatever the case might be.

00:26:50 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And so we have to really weigh out.

00:26:52 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And sometimes we do have situations that say like no backside needs, like grind a little bit because I’m saving for you, know down payment on a house or whatever the case might be.

00:27:04 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

But to make the grind a lifestyle means.

00:27:09 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

That you know what’s really the longevity of your career?

00:27:13 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Could you work for 50 years, saying 15 clients a week?

00:27:18 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know versus you can work for 15 years because you’ve seen 30 clients a week and then you’re you.

00:27:27 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You have this compassion fatigue and you start to.

00:27:30

Be mean to.

00:27:30 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Your clients you know.

00:27:34 Patrick Martin LCSW

And practice what we preach, right?

00:27:36 Patrick Martin LCSW

Right, right?

00:27:37 Patrick Martin LCSW

Yes, so I love that leading with our values and so it sounds like being very intentional with what season of life or in what you know?

00:27:44 Patrick Martin LCSW

Looking ahead and working backwards.

00:27:46 Patrick Martin LCSW

You know, thinking about the quality of life we want and kind of reverse engineering that.

00:27:52 Patrick Martin LCSW

And that can be on a 10 year Plan, 5 year plan and a two week plan, right?

00:27:57

Right?

00:27:57 Patrick Martin LCSW

Thinking about tomorrow and what we want tomorrow to look like in the next two weeks.

00:28:00 Patrick Martin LCSW

And I know in the mental health space we book out like 3 months in advance.

00:28:03 Patrick Martin LCSW

I know I do.

00:28:04 Patrick Martin LCSW

You know the calendar is booked out, so I think it’s really important to think ahead.

00:28:07 Patrick Martin LCSW

You know about, you know if you know we have some time to days to crank it in days we want to pack a little bit lighter because of self-care because of the other goals we’re working on, right?

00:28:17 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah yeah, and I think.

00:28:19 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know we have it come.

00:28:22 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uh, more choices to make building our own schedules as entrepreneurs, and so with that comes, we’re not forced to take two weeks vacation a year.

00:28:33 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Or, you know, four weeks vacation a year.

00:28:35 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

We’re not forced to do anything and so we have to make those choices for ourselves and.

00:28:39 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It can be.

00:28:40 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Difficult when we enjoy this work.

00:28:45 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know, you know, even if we take the the income.

00:28:46 Patrick Martin LCSW

This is true.

00:28:49 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Part out of it we.

00:28:50 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Enjoy working with our clients.

00:28:52 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

This is why we chose this line of work, but.

00:28:56 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’ve noticed that when I take a week.

00:28:58 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Off, even if.

00:28:59 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It’s just to like do netflixing or like do a course on Pepsi or something like that.

00:29:06 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I enjoy working with my clients even more when I come back I have fresh and new ideas.

00:29:12 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I have missed them so just doing that on purpose.

00:29:17 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Taking that time off, even if there’s nothing scheduled is really important.

00:29:23 Patrick Martin LCSW

Yes, Amen to that.

00:29:27 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So when is your next vacation, Patrick?

00:29:29 Patrick Martin LCSW

I don’t know.

00:29:30 Patrick Martin LCSW

Coming up, I think somewhere.

00:29:33 Patrick Martin LCSW

I take many vacations too.

00:29:35 Patrick Martin LCSW

Yeah, yeah.

00:29:38 Patrick Martin LCSW

Uhm, so for the entrepreneur slash therapist, right?

00:29:44 Patrick Martin LCSW

Who’s trying to get in?

00:29:46 Patrick Martin LCSW

Get in, you know, build out their own practice.

00:29:50 Patrick Martin LCSW

Like you have.

00:29:52 Patrick Martin LCSW

What are some of the challenges you’ve run into when it comes to getting into the digital space?

00:29:58 Patrick Martin LCSW

Because we could talk a lot about the brick and mortar.

00:30:00 Patrick Martin LCSW

Aspect of your challenges, but specifically because you are definitely.

00:30:05 Patrick Martin LCSW

A pioneer in this, you know this kind of new.

00:30:09 Patrick Martin LCSW

New territory for therapists, he said courses.

00:30:13 Patrick Martin LCSW

Digital products, right?

00:30:17 Patrick Martin LCSW

Without a master class.

00:30:19 Patrick Martin LCSW

Podcasts digital offerings this app.

00:30:24 Patrick Martin LCSW

Now, what are some of the hurdles you’ve had to overcome in order to make this?

00:30:29 Patrick Martin LCSW

Happen to come to fruition.

00:30:31 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yes, so I’d.

00:30:33 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Say the the biggest number one hurdle is the how to.

00:30:38 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Like how to up offer an online course, and so I’ll just offer this for free free 99.

00:30:48 Patrick Martin LCSW

Right?

00:30:48 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uh, because I looked at there’s like Coursera.

00:30:55 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And then there’s thinkific and there’s a few different online platforms for hosting.

00:31:01 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And then there’s even some that will.

00:31:04 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Like offer your classes or your courses for C.

00:31:09 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

E unit, but as I’ve looked into these myselves, they.

00:31:14 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

There are some limitations, meaning like.

00:31:17 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You have to pay like.

00:31:18 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

$400.00 a month for it to be hosted on.

00:31:21 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

This platform or.

00:31:23 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

For their specific company.

00:31:25 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I can’t remember the name that wanted to, you know, be able to offer CEU units for my course. They would take 80% of the profit and give.

00:31:34 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Me 20%.

00:31:35 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’m like OK but like.

00:31:37

Like what are you doing exactly?

00:31:39 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Like I created this course like I put in all this time and then you’re gonna.

00:31:42 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Take 8 like.

00:31:44 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Math doesn’t make sense make.

00:31:46 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It make sense.

00:31:46 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Right and and So what I learned was there’s something called learndash, a learning management system.

00:31:56 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And it was it’s.

00:31:58 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

A platform that you can actually build into your own website, and so your course is hosted on your website.

00:32:06 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You own it, you have control over UM.

00:32:13 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

What you’re charging and you’re getting 100% of it. You get control over adding courses, building it out over the SCO because it comes directly to.

00:32:25 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Your website versus 1/3.

00:32:26 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Party platform and all these things and it actually looks like if you’ve ever taken an online course.

00:32:33 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

In a university it it’s built out.

00:32:35 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

That way it looks that way.

00:32:37 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It’s actually very cool and you can have videos and then you can have like articles that you have attached to that course.

00:32:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Or you know quizzes and you get a certificate of completion afterwards and all that stuff.

00:32:52 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So that’s kind of just free up that I wanted to share with people.

00:32:58 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And then umso.

00:33:00 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Actually, let me just share my screen look and see what that looks like on this end.

00:33:02 Patrick Martin LCSW

Now please.

00:33:09 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Let’s see give me just a second.

00:33:17 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So unfortunately I have to share my desktop for a.

00:33:19 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

2nd so it’ll be here.

00:33:21 Patrick Martin LCSW

All works.

00:33:22 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

All right?

00:33:25 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So this is just the main page. If you go to doctorblack.com/courses I have one course built out right now and.

00:33:34 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Then you get.

00:33:34 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

To design the the the landing page.

00:33:43 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

There’s course content and so you can see how I have mine built out and if I would have planned ahead then I would have logged on so that you can see like what each of these looks like.

00:33:55 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

But that was the best fit for me.

00:33:59 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

One of the other things that I’ve done is I’m connected with my local Small Business Administration so SPDC.

00:34:07 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I think it’s the.

00:34:08 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Small Business Development Corporation.

00:34:10 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And they have these all over the country where you can meet with mentors and coaches for free as frequently as you want to, and they yes, and they teach you everything.

00:34:25 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So mine has helped me with like trying to get more SEO.

00:34:30 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

For my website, so like giving advice like you.

00:34:33 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Know having a.

00:34:34 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Blog and those sorts of things down to like.

00:34:37 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uhm, pitching if you wanted to pitch for different grants, or you know venture capitalists like funding to how to build your website to marketing and advertising.

00:34:54 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So I’m taking they recommend that I take classes.

00:34:57 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

On like LinkedIn.

00:34:58 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Learning for the Google versus Facebook versus LinkedIn paid ads and so many other things so I would say to get LinkedIn with your local SBDC small business.

00:35:13 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah, small business develop.

00:35:15 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I don’t think it’s.

00:35:16 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Corporation or up, but it’s paid for by tax dollars.

00:35:21 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So yes.

00:35:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So get connected with a.

00:35:25 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Mentor mine is at the University of Laverne and we meet weekly to biweekly and we just talk about everything.

00:35:32 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So he’s helped me with actually developing out the.

00:35:37 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

The the next steps of.

00:35:39 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

My app and course marketing and then also like looking at my financial plan and those sorts of things.

00:35:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It’s pretty amazing.

00:35:49 Patrick Martin LCSW

Wow, see a wealth of information.

00:35:51 Patrick Martin LCSW

That’s why I was excited to have you on.

00:35:54 Patrick Martin LCSW

Clinical psychology who happens to have expertise and chronic illness and a DD which we haven’t got into testing.

00:36:01 Patrick Martin LCSW

That’s a big part of practice, right?

00:36:01

Yeah it.

00:36:03 Patrick Martin LCSW

It’ll be.

00:36:03

Is it is?

00:36:03 Patrick Martin LCSW

Testing for adults, which is difficult to even find these days.

00:36:09 Patrick Martin LCSW

I get so many.

00:36:10 Patrick Martin LCSW

Clients who are asking for ADHD testing as an adult who don’t have the history as a child of testing, it’s very hard to get connected to places like the regional center when you don’t have.

00:36:21 Patrick Martin LCSW

At history of being diagnosed or to get medication when you’re going to college as an adult and you have these learning disabilities and a lot of the campuses don’t offer that as part of that student health services, they have to go out of pocket.

00:36:24

Right?

00:36:33 Patrick Martin LCSW

Where taking.

00:36:34 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Right and adult autism testing as well.

00:36:36 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

That’s you know, pretty rare, and that’s something that.

00:36:39 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Ioffer and.

00:36:40 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And the reason why I got into that is, you know.

00:36:44 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Well, first of all my my background is in neuropsychology.

00:36:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

The first I had a six year graduate program in the first five years I was studying to be a neuropsychologist my dissertation.

00:36:54 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Is on in a hemispheric transfer times in children with mouth moderates or exceeding moderate to severe traumatic brain injuries, and so I was looking at EEG data and combining that with neurocognitive testing to see like if there were any differences between you know, moderate to severe TBI.

00:37:14 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And control youth and then like right before.

00:37:17

My 6th year.

00:37:18 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Right before applying for internship I was.

00:37:20 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Just like you know, I really like health psychology.

00:37:25 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I I I really disappointed my mentors so much yeah.

00:37:27 Patrick Martin LCSW

I’m passionate about.

00:37:31

They’re like, oh.

00:37:33 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

But they were like, well, I guess you could do assessment and like health psych up.

00:37:37 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So I did my internship and helps.

00:37:41 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Like so behavioral medicine and you know focused on that.

00:37:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

For my postdoc as well, which was.

00:37:51 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Health promotion and disease prevent.

00:37:55 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And that’s it, really well with like me figuring out my identity as a chronically ill person.

00:38:02 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

As a person who was living with lupus and working clinically with people who had HIV and AIDS and cancer and so many other medical illnesses.

00:38:12 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And as I got into my.

00:38:13 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Private practice and was.

00:38:14 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Doing that I.

00:38:15 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Was like I really miss assessment.

00:38:18 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I really miss it.

00:38:19 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So you know what is a niche?

00:38:22 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

What is something that I can offer that is not really being offered too much around here?

00:38:27 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So that was the the adult assessment for.

00:38:30 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

ADHD, as you mentioned, it’s.

00:38:32 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Kind of rare to find and.

00:38:35 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And typically the people who get missed.

00:38:38 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So the people who are not diagnosed in childhood are the people who are very bright.

00:38:46 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Because the schools.

00:38:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Will test once whatever behaviors or learning differences or whatever start to get in the way.

00:38:53 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Of school performance.

00:38:55 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So when you’re starting to get bad grades or flunking out, the school is going to test, and you know that’s something that’s paid for by the district.

00:39:03 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

However, if you’re struggling.

00:39:06 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And spending hours a night on homework but still getting a.

00:39:09 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Age still managing to get by because either you have a lot of anxiety and or you’re really smart.

00:39:15 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You might go through the entire K through 12 and not really be flagged and so now you get to college and all of a sudden you don’t have the structure that your parents enforced.

00:39:29 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And all that extra executive functioning help your you know, planning your own classes, you have parties to go to and friends and you know all this extra autonomy.

00:39:40 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Me and still dealing with those problems that you had before of waiting until the last minute to get starting on projects.

00:39:48 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Or, you know, having a hard time finishing something once you start?

00:39:54 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Because either you’re distracted and you know your mind goes somewhere else, or because you don’t have the organizational skills.

00:40:00 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And then it’s.

00:40:01 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Like oh, I think something like something has to, you know, make it make sense again, like there’s something wrong.

00:40:09 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I don’t know what it is and so that’s where you know.

00:40:13 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Someone like me would come on and say like, OK well.

00:40:16 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So let’s take a look at this.

00:40:18 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Let’s have your parents fill out some forms about how you were between the ages of five and 12, and let me look at all your report cards from kindergarten until now and then.

00:40:27 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

That’s typically where I start to see that there were signs all around always turns in homework blade, you know.

00:40:35 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Talks too much.

00:40:36 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

In class can’t sit still, you know, rushes on, you know assignments or on tests or you know, doesn’t check.

00:40:45 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Their work like.

00:40:46 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

These signs were there, but they weren’t prominent enough to get them flagged, so they got missed.

00:40:56 Patrick Martin LCSW

That makes a lot of sense, and that’s very thorough.

00:40:58 Patrick Martin LCSW

I’m going back to you.

00:40:59 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It is it.

00:41:00 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It’s fine.

00:41:00 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It is very expensive as well.

00:41:02 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

’cause it is thorough.

00:41:04 Patrick Martin LCSW

Yeah, yeah.

00:41:05 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah yeah, but I love it.

00:41:07 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I love.

00:41:08 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It so much because the you know.

00:41:11 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Within a week, you know of me.

00:41:14 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Doing this assessment with the person from the clinical interview to the in person testing to the feedback so.

00:41:20 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

They I’m able to put together the pieces of this puzzle and really help to make sense of what their experience is.

00:41:29 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Give them an.

00:41:30 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Explanation for their experience and they feel seen they feel understood and they have a toolkit.

00:41:40 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Or a road map for their next steps forward.

00:41:43 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So it’s not just like OK, here’s your diagnosis and then like see later.

00:41:48 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Go find a you know somebody give you medications.

00:41:50 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Looks like no, you know.

00:41:51 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Here are your next steps you know.

00:41:54 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

This types these types of therapies.

00:41:56 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Will be really helpful for you.

00:41:57 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You’re going to need these accommodations.

00:41:59 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

In school or at work you will, you know.

00:42:03 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Get an executive functioning.

00:42:04 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Coach is going to help you as that external frontal lobe and teach you those skills and strategies until they become more natural for you and you know of course the the medication piece is really important as well.

00:42:18 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So having that road map for their next steps forward.

00:42:20

Right?

00:42:21 Patrick Martin LCSW

Wow, yes, so definitely thorough.

00:42:23 Patrick Martin LCSW

I love it.

00:42:25 Patrick Martin LCSW

It’s not very thoughtful.

00:42:27 Patrick Martin LCSW

You need to think through the whole process of somebody going through that experience.

00:42:30 Patrick Martin LCSW

The answers they’re looking for, and even how to help support them moving forward.

00:42:37 Patrick Martin LCSW

That’s a big deal.

00:42:38 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah, and help help them to know how their brain works.

00:42:41 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And it’s not just about.

00:42:42 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So the challenges that they’re having, but also what are their strengths?

00:42:46 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And so part of the testing is also, like, you know, an IQ assessment and and looking at the different areas of brain functioning that are impacted by attention so that they can know not only you know what are the things that they’re struggling with, but what are some of your your superpowers.

00:43:03 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Here are some of the inherent strengths of even having ADHD.

00:43:07 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know, so I have this handout.

00:43:09 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It’s 25 things to love about 80 D and.

00:43:11 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It talks about.

00:43:11 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Like you know.

00:43:12 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Insomnia makes for, you know, more time to surf the.

00:43:15 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Net at night, you know?

00:43:16 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Or having this bar eating sense of humor that, like you know, no one really gets because your brain is from, you know, zero to 100 miles an hour. And other people are like still on.

00:43:27

40 right?

00:43:28 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Or having the sense of compassion or this.

00:43:32 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It made understanding for technology and you know all these other hyperfocus like you know ADHD people think it’s like you can’t pay attention like no.

00:43:42 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Actually it’s an inability to control where your attention goes.

00:43:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know it’s not campy attention, because if you’ve ever seen someone with ADHD or you have it yourself, you know that wanted something you’re interested.

00:43:56 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Then you have this.

00:43:59 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uh, skill, where like you will learn everything about that subject to like down to like the the micro Organism.

00:44:08 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Part of it then?

00:44:08 Patrick Martin LCSW

Right, so it can be a superpower, right?

00:44:10 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah, that’s really.

00:44:12 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah, so just.

00:44:13 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Learning about those things and learning how.

00:44:17 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

To like really hone in on those.

00:44:19 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Strengths while also getting support for the challenges it’s more of like a whole person approach.

00:44:25 Patrick Martin LCSW

I love it.

00:44:25 Patrick Martin LCSW

It’s fantastic so can we call you and ADHD specialist?

00:44:30

Uh, no, not yet.

00:44:32 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’m actually getting additional certification so that you can call me a clinical specialist in.

00:44:37 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

That, but right now it’s just, you know.

00:44:39 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It’s just part of what I do.

00:44:40 Patrick Martin LCSW

One of your many operators.

00:44:43 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah, thank you though.

00:44:47 Patrick Martin LCSW

All right so.

00:44:49 Patrick Martin LCSW

For anyone listening, obviously, so you have a practice in Clermont.

00:44:51 Patrick Martin LCSW

Faces of health.

00:44:53 Patrick Martin LCSW

That’s very holistic, but definitely this is 11 offering of yours. That is really, you know, the top tier is the the ADHD testing for adults.

00:45:07 Patrick Martin LCSW

Anybody in the Socal area?

00:45:08 Patrick Martin LCSW

Yeah, looking for you know that kind of service that’s.

00:45:09

Yes, yes.

00:45:12 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah, and actually started eight age 8.

00:45:15 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So I do, you know, do the little.

00:45:16 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Kids as well.

00:45:17 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah so I.

00:45:18 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Say like between 88 and like 40.

00:45:21 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

After 40 years.

00:45:22 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Old, you start to get into like early dementia and those sorts.

00:45:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Of things that I refer out to.

00:45:27 Patrick Martin LCSW

Good to know.

00:45:30 Patrick Martin LCSW

Nice yeah.

00:45:32 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

But I did Patrick if we have time.

00:45:34 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I wanted to.

00:45:35 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Share my.

00:45:37 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uhm, my iPhone screen and just show what?

00:45:40

Yeah, yeah.

00:45:41

She’s new.

00:45:41

00:45:42 Patrick Martin LCSW

00:45:44 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

’cause I’m really excited.

00:45:46 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’m proud of this.

00:45:50 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And share also some new things that will come soon.

00:45:58 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Alright, alright so this is the thank you this is.

00:45:58 Patrick Martin LCSW

I love it.

00:46:00 Patrick Martin LCSW

I’ve been playing around theme in testing.

00:46:03 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

The new interface.

00:46:04 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I had a different one when I first launched, but I cleaned it up this way because there were questions about like, well, what does each thing mean?

00:46:13 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

What are cymatic exercises?

00:46:15 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

What are CBT skills?

00:46:17 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So in this iteration you can see like there is a short description before each of the things that you would click on.

00:46:28 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So there’s crisis support like hotline numbers, somatic exercises and distress, CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy.

00:46:36 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So those are always free.

00:46:38 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Those are the freemium features.

00:46:40 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And so I’ll just open up cymatic exercises, for example, so people can see what that looks like.

00:46:46 Patrick Martin LCSW

Nice and lovely jewel visual.

00:46:46 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So under thank you, yeah.

00:46:49 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

So under each tool is a, there are a series of different videos that you can just follow along with.

00:46:58 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And the nice thing is.

00:47:00 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You can literally just play it and follow along.

00:47:05 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And if we go to let me go back, there’s also like we said, tapping skills, chair yoga.

00:47:13 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’m a certified chair yoga instructor.

00:47:15 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I got that when I was at the VA to be.

00:47:18 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Able to provide that offering for veterans breath training, there’s.

00:47:23 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Quite a few videos under breath training because people like that.

00:47:27 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

But like you said, it’s definitely more robust.

00:47:30 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

There’s a lot more than just that, and if people are listening, uhm.

00:47:37 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

In their car or like before they go to sleep at night.

00:47:44 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

There’s also audio for all this there’s self brainspotting exercises.

00:47:50 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I have a few videos there.

00:47:51 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

There’s some more that I’m going to add that I recorded when I was in Alaska last month.

00:47:57

Faith-based skills.

00:47:59 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

The digital coloring book is also free.

00:48:02 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And I love.

00:48:02 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

This because you just use a little.

00:48:06 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Item and then you can just like color and so this is like a grounding exercise like just distract you from your pain and then you can like choose the size of it.

00:48:16 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You can have it really big and I’ll make it orange so the people who are that was in orange.

00:48:22 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

The people who cannot see this who are just listening by audio.

00:48:26 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uhm, sorry about that.

00:48:29 Patrick Martin LCSW

That’s cool rifle.

00:48:30 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

But you can.

00:48:31 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You can say you can.

00:48:32 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

See the through cool and then of course.

00:48:33 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

00:48:54 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Anyone who is.

00:48:56 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

A little bit hesitant about going to therapy is like, well, what will you learn in therapy like?

00:49:01 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Well, actually, here is an app that shows you some of the skills and tools that you will learn with your therapist and it just makes the process a little bit less intimidating for them.

00:49:12 Patrick Martin LCSW

That’s fantastic, so it’s very complementary to.

00:49:18 Patrick Martin LCSW

00:52:01 Patrick Martin LCSW

For any, any therapists out there wondering how how your homepage should look, this is a good example.

00:52:06 Patrick Martin LCSW

Thank you yeah so.

00:52:08 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I I’m just another kind of free tip for people.

00:52:11 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I found someone on fiber F.

00:52:14 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

IVER.

00:52:15 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

R.com

00:52:17 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

To build out the first iteration of my website and it was very inexpensive, I think was like $350.00.

00:52:27 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And then after that they kind of given me all the backdoor access and so I’ve built it out more my.

00:52:33 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Myself and built other.

00:52:36 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Webpages, including if you want to click on that bottom.

00:52:38 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

ADHD and autism testing.

00:52:41 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And click on that one and that’s the page that I built myself so.

00:52:45 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know, as you’re going.

00:52:46 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Through you don’t have to.

00:52:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Pay thousands and thousands of dollars to.

00:52:51 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You know, start your business.

00:52:54 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You can just start with a.

00:52:55 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Little bit and go.

00:52:56 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Ahead and scroll.

00:52:57 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Up ’cause it’s really beautiful.

00:52:58 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’m proud of it.

00:53:00 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Uh, maybe just start with a little bit and then kind of back end on how to do it yourself.

00:53:07 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And you can do something like LinkedIn learning that teaches you like step by step on how to you know, add pages to a website.

00:53:19 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

And those sorts of things.

00:53:21 Patrick Martin LCSW

Wow, it’s fantastic.

00:53:24 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Very good 01 more. One more UM helpful hint. So there’s this website calledunsplashunsplash.com and on there you can get copyright free images so you can download images of anything you just type in what?

00:53:44 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

The image that you’re looking for and then you can add them to your website and they don’t have any.

00:53:47 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Copyright and no cost.

00:53:49 Patrick Martin LCSW

Wow, yes Unsplash is a great one.

00:53:52 Patrick Martin LCSW

So again I think.

00:53:54 Patrick Martin LCSW

We could dive really deep on a lot of your expertise for any any therapist out there.

00:53:59 Patrick Martin LCSW

I think starting a private practice just the obviously the legalese of it is one hurdle, but like you had mentioned, understanding the online aspect, the CEO, the websites, the digital offerings.

00:54:14 Patrick Martin LCSW

As well as like how to market locally, how to fill up your caseload but not be overwhelmed, right?

00:54:21 Patrick Martin LCSW

And I think that’s really where this idea of passive income shines, right?

00:54:27 Patrick Martin LCSW

Is because you can offer quality care without burning yourself out face to face, right?

00:54:32 Patrick Martin LCSW

And then still have a further reach in the online space and that way it’s kind of the best of both worlds, right?

00:54:39 Patrick Martin LCSW

As they complement each other and.

00:54:41 Patrick Martin LCSW

That’s the dream, I think for a lot of clinicians these days, that’s definitely on, you know.

00:54:46 Patrick Martin LCSW

My mental horizon is trying to get more into that space.

00:54:51 Patrick Martin LCSW

Ah, it is.

00:54:52 Patrick Martin LCSW

There’s a lot to learn, right?

00:54:54 Patrick Martin LCSW

Just in in building out this podcast and YouTube and everything in there.

00:54:58 Patrick Martin LCSW

There’s, that’s the whole.

00:55:01 Patrick Martin LCSW

Thing in and of itself, right is the back.

00:55:04 Patrick Martin LCSW

The skills involved with that and then course creating.

00:55:08 Patrick Martin LCSW

Like you said, there’s so many platforms now we think of the kajabi.

00:55:15

Right?

00:55:15 Patrick Martin LCSW

Uhm, one I’m playing with right now is thrive cart learn, which is a whole other thing.

00:55:19

OK.

00:55:20 Patrick Martin LCSW

Yeah, so there’s just.

00:55:21 Patrick Martin LCSW

And then I think it said learn Dash is what you’re using.

00:55:25 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

Yeah, just build.

00:55:26 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

It into your own website.

00:55:27 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

You own all of it.

00:55:28 Patrick Martin LCSW

So it is a lot of information, but I’m glad that we have you in our corner so we can pick your.

00:55:33 Patrick Martin LCSW

Brain, you know?

00:55:35 Patrick Martin LCSW

Yeah, I’m here I’m.

00:55:37 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

I’m happy to share.

00:55:37 Patrick Martin LCSW

You know, yeah, somebody who’s already, you know, beat down a path, so that’s awesome.

00:55:43 Patrick Martin LCSW

All right, well I will look forward to having you back on in the future.

00:55:46 Patrick Martin LCSW

In the meantime you have a fantastic week and thank you again so much for making time today.

00:55:51 Dr. Monica Blied, Ph.D.

00:55:53 Patrick Martin LCSW
